There is not much time left in the ongoing transfer window and unfortunately, Celtic have left themselves with a lot to do. This has been the case far too often for the Hoops in their recent history though so nobody should really be surprised about it anymore. Now, it remains to be seen if they can get deals over the line.
It is not just arrivals that the club are concerned with either. There are also other teams trying to sign their players before the winter transfer window closes.
One player who is certain to leave the club in the summer if Daniel Cummings. It is believed that he has already agreed a pre-contract with West Ham United. The Premier League club are willing to bring that move forward.
As reported by Anthony Joseph, West Ham United have made an improved offer for Cummings. If the latest bid is rejected, it’s understood that the Premier League side will finalise the pre-contract agreement for a move in the summer.
Premier League club make deadline day bid for in-form Celtic player
Celtic do not have a good track record in recent years when it comes to bringing through youngsters into the senior team. Unfortunately, that has meant that their academy players are now comfortable leaving before ever making a mark in the first-team.
If or when Cummings leaves, he won't be the first or the last academy standout to depart Celtic early in his career. In fact, it was in the recent game against Aston Villa that he made his debut.
Unfortunately, it looks like that is going to be his last appearance in a Celtic shirt as well. There is clearly a lot of talent in Cummings. It remains to be seen if he can be a success in the senior game.
