Celtic are set to face Aberdeen on Wednesday in the Scottish Premiership, with the Hoops eager for three points after a draw at Ibrox last weekend.

Aberdeen have been out of form this season and currently sit 8th in the league table. In their last five games, they have only won once, drawn once and lost three times. Their most recent loss came against Hearts at Tynecastle, where Claudio Braga's 28th-minute goal proved to be the winner.

Celtic have been disappointing this season, but come off the back of a decent performance against Rangers in the second half of the derby. Goals from Kieran Tierney and Reo Hatate helped the Celts to a late comeback after going 2-0 down in the first half, and they'll be hoping for an easier time in the Granite City.

Predicted Celtic XI for Aberdeen away

According to multiple sources, Kasper Schmeichel is currently out with an illness, and he will not return for this one. Viljami Sinisalo will take his place between the sticks again, which will be a relief to a lot of supporters who have lost trust in the Dane.

Liam Scales will start, with Benjamin Arthur possibly coming in to accompany him. Celtic should beat Aberdeen with ease, but as we know, anything can happen. However, because this is considered one of our "easier" games, Martin O'Neill may give Arthur a shot, especially after Dane Murray's performance against Rangers raised some eyebrows.

At full-back, Julian Aurajo will start. He didn't have the best game against Rangers, and so, he will be looking to be back at his best against the Dons.

Marcelo Saracchi could get the nod at left-back. O'Neill may want to save Tierney for the cup derby at the weekend, especially after he scored at the weekend, so it could be wise to rotate and bring in our loanee.

In the midfield, Callum McGregor, Benjamin Nygren and Reo Hatate should start.

Considering it wasn't that long ago that supporters were saying Hatate should be nowhere near the Celtic midfield, we didn't expect to be including him in our prediction, but he impressed against Stuttgart and Rangers. He has found some form, and we should capitalise on it.

Up front, Yang, Tomas Cvancara and Sebastian Tounekti should start.

After the manager's recent comments about Joel Mvuka potentially returning, there is a chance he could feature in this one as well, but probably wise to start Yang, with the winger having a lot to offer. Cvancara failed to feature at Ibrox but could find the net at Pittodrie, so he should be given a shot. We should be saving Daizen Maeda for the derby.

Sinisalo (GK)

Aurajo (RB), Arthur (CB), Scales (CB), Saracchi (LB)

Nygren (CM), McGregor (CM), Hatate (CM)

Yang (RW), Cvancara (ST), Tounekti (LW)

How could the match go?

With Aberdeen out of form and quite far down the league table, Celtic should be getting a big three points in this one. The Hoops have been conceding silly goals recently, but with Sinisalo in nets and with a bit of hope, there is a chance that we could keep a clean sheet on the road.

Our prediction is Aberdeen 0 - 2 Celtic.
