Hugo Bueno is someone Celtic have been linked with for quite some time. The Hoops were believed to be interested in signing the Wolves left-back in the winter but that did not end up happening as he stayed on with the Premier League club. Now, those rumours have emerged once again. Will the Scottish champions have better luck this time around?

Left-back has been viewed as an area of weakness for quite some time. Admittedly, Greg Taylor improved over the course of the previous season after a shaky start to the campaign under the management of Brendan Rodgers.

Even then, one would hope that Taylor has some competition for his place in the starting XI. If he ends up getting injured, Rodgers will have to play Anthony Ralston on the opposite flank once again.

Someone like Bueno could be a solid signing for Celtic. He has a decent bit of experience at the Premier League level even though he is not a starter for the Wolves. Also, at 21 years of age, he has time on his side and is expected to improve further as he gains more experience. But is he going to be available on loan this summer?

Wolves make Hugo Bueno exit decision amid Celtic rumours

There is some bad news for Celtic. As tweeted by Liam Keen, as it stands, Wolves are not interested in letting Bueno leave, despite concrete interest in him.

Of course, things can change quickly in football. But at the moment, it looks like a loan move for Bueno is on the table for Celtic.

That should not stop them from looking to strengthen at left-back though. That definitely has to be an area of focus during this transfer window, just like striker, central defence and potentially midfield in case Matt O'Riley ends up leaving.
