Slovan Bratislava coach makes "world's best" claim before facing Celtic

That's another international break in the rearview mirror. For Celtic and Brendan Rodgers, it didn't cause any great concerns in terms of injuries. There were also some personal player highlights, and others on the sidelines looking at possibilities in the future. Now, it is time to look forward with some exciting games ahead.
There were some worries along the way with Alistair Johnston and Adam Idah leaving the pitch early during games. But early fears of injuries were misplaced. We also saw Paulo Bernardo in great form with a goal for the Portugal U21s and Arne Engles make his full Belgium debut.
It is now very much about the club for a few weeks as we return to Premiership action, fit in a Champions League tie, and then turn to the Scottish League Cup. It’s an exciting run of three matches at home for the Bhoys.
Already the focus will be on facing Hearts at the weekend. Stephen Naismith's side have picked up a single point from four league matches after an opening-day draw with the Rangers. But the Hoops cannot afford to take any opponent lightly when perfection is the call of the hour.

In midweek, it’ll be that great sound of the Champions League anthem and a full crowd at Celtic Park. The Hoops will face Slovan Bratislava in their opening match in the new format. As reported by Football Scotland, their coach Boris Kitka said ahead of the match:
"We have an extremely challenging schedule. We are in the Champions League against some of the world's best clubs and we start against Celtic."
Kitka was standing in for their manager, Vladimir Weiss, a former Rangers player in case one had forgotten. There are no easy matches in the Champions League but this could be an ideal start for the Hoops. It’s a good chance to test the side and see how the new signings can help. Getting points on the board early could be critical to making progress to the next phase in Europe.
Rodgers and his squad have plenty to focus on over the next few days. Helping the new signings settle in and understand how the team plays will be vital. It’s good to be back after the international break with so much to look forward to.
