It might have taken more than two weeks of the January transfer window but Celtic finally got their first signing of the month done, bringing Nicolas Kuhn to Parkhead from Rapid Vienna for a transfer fee believed to be around £3 million. Many feel that the club did not need to add another winger to their ranks and there are other positions in much more urgent need of strengthening.

The hope is that those additions will be made over the last two weeks of the January transfer window. Plenty of players have been linked with Celtic recently. Now let's see what kind of moves they make.

The good news is that Celtic do seem to be interested in making more signings this month. And in the right positions as well.

As tweeted by Anthony Joseph, Celtic are now focussing efforts to bring in a left-back and a striker before the end of the transfer window. Permanent deals would be preferable, but loan targets may be more achievable. The goalkeeper situation is also being assessed, but is more likely to be addressed in the summer.

Celtic clearly need to add another left-back. Greg Taylor has not been at his best under the management of Brendan Rodgers. On the other hand, it is pretty clear that things will not work out for Alexandro Bernabei in Glasgow and it might be time to part ways with the Argentine.

When it comes to striker, neither Kyogo nor Oh Hyeon-gyu have been consistent this season so far. The Hoops need someone to compete for the starting spot up top.

Joe Hart has received a lot of criticism in recent times as well. But it feels very likely that Celtic will stick with him till the end of the season, when his contract is set to run out, before addressing the goalkeeper situation.
