Sky Sports man confirms double Celtic transfer news
The first task on Celtic's summer to-do list has to be finding a new number one. That is because Joe Hart retired at the end of the 23/24 season, having spent three very successful years as the Hoops' first-choice between the posts. The Englishman was not only a contributor on the pitch but a leader in a somewhat inexperienced squad as well.
Hart might not have been a popular signing back in the summer of 2021 but he was vital in the seven trophies that the club won over the next three seasons. Naturally, it will not be easy replacing someone of his quality and experience.
Celtic have been linked with a long list of goalkeepers in recent times. And their interest in a couple of them has now been confirmed by a reliable source.
As tweeted by Anthony Joseph, Celtic are interested in Newcastle United’s Martin Dubravka and Sparta Prague’s Peter Vindahl Jensen. Both goalkeepers are understood to be on the shortlist of targets to replace Hart.

Of course, Dubravka is the more high-profile name out of the two. He has spent several seasons at Newcastle United and even had a loan spell at Manchester United.
He is 35 years of age and has represented the Slovakia national team on more than 40 occasions. Thus, he is a similar profile to that of Hart although he has never played at the levels that the Englishman did in his prime.
On the other hand, Jensen is 26 years old and does not have top level experience. But he could be a long-term option between the posts if he succeeds at Celtic, something that Dubravka quite certainly won't be. Of course, there are plenty of other goalkeepers who are believed to be on the Hoops' radar.
