Sky Sports confirm £4.5 million Celtic double deal
Celtic are yet to make their first signing of the summer but that won't remain the case for too much longer. The club were believed to be on the verge of signing Kasper Schmeichel as a free agent already, as they look to fill the void left behind by Joe Hart's retirement. And now, the Hoops have seemingly agreed deals with two more clubs.
There had been speculation about the club looking to add a second goalkeeper to their ranks this summer. That makes sense with the future of Benjamin Siegrist in doubt.
On the other hand, there was a belief that Celtic would try to sign Paulo Bernardo on a permanent basis as well. The Portuguese midfielder spent last season on loan at Parkhead and showed a ton of potential.
Now, as tweeted by Sky Sports News, Celtic have agreed a fee in the region of £1 million for Aston Villa goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo. The Hoops have also agreed an initial fee of £3.5 million with Benfica for Bernardo.

Unless there are any unexpected obstacles on the way, it looks like Sinisalo and Bernardo will end up joining Celtic this summer. While they might not end up having starting roles in the team immediately, it strengthens the squad for sure.
Sinisalo is a full Finland international. But chances were hard to come by at Aston Villa, with them having Emi Martinez. He spent last season on loan at Exeter City and did well, and is being viewed as one for the future.
On the other hand, Bernardo has already shown that he can deliver in Scottish football and is only expected to improve moving forward. Also, if Matt O'Riley leaves this summer, he might end up having a starting role in the team.
Of course, neither transfer is official yet. But if things go according to plan, both Bernardo and Sinisalo should be Celtic players very soon.
