It would be safe to say that most Celtic fans would be delighted if the club were successful in signing Dominik Livakovic from Fenerbahce this summer. The Hoops are in search of a new number one following the retirement of Joe Hart and the Croatian international would tick pretty much every box they could be looking at.

Livakovic has been linked with Celtic in the past as well. But things did not materialise and he ended up joining Fenerbahce.

A summer later and the Livakovic to Celtic rumours are back. In fact, they seem stronger than ever. There has even been talk lately of a transfer bid from the Hoops in the region of £7.6 million being accepted by Fenerbahce.

Unfortunately, it looks like there is not much to that rumour and it is wide of the mark. As tweeted by Izak Ante Sucic, Livakovic won't be joining Celtic. Not a single word was exchanged between the player, his team and Fenerbahce on that matter. Rumours from Turkey and Scotland were completely false. Everything was confirmed by his public relations agent Stipo Dubravac.

Sucic might not be a household name. But he has delivered reliable news on Croatian players for years. So, there is enough reason to believe that his update on the Livakovic situation is accurate and that the Croatian goalkeeper won't be joining Celtic this summer.

Of course, that will come as a blow to Celtic fans who would have been hoping to see Livakovic join the club. He has not had a great EURO 24 campaign but the 29-year-old is a fantastic goalkeeper without a doubt.

Livakovic is not the only goalkeeper Celtic have been linked with in recent days though. Let's see who they end up signing ultimately.
