Reliable journalist rubbishes Celtic transfer rumour
Celtic look set to make a few additions to Brendan Rodgers' squad in January after what has been an underwhelming first half to the season for the Hoops despite getting the better of the Rangers both times the two teams met. The need of the hour is not just to sign players but those who can come into the team and make an immediate impact.
One of the names that has been making the rounds of the Celtic rumour mill recently is that of Ola Solbakken. The Norwegian international is currently on loan at Olympiacos from AS Roma but has not made a single goal contribution so far for the Greek side.
Many Celtic fans still remember Solbakken's performance against the Hoops a couple of years back, when he used to play for Bodo/Glimt. And the reception to the links had been mostly positive on social media.
A move to Parkhead does not appear to be on the cards though. As tweeted by Mark Hendry, Solbakken has played for both AS Roma and Olympiacos this season. There is nothing in the Celtic loan speculation.

So, it looks like a move to Celtic is not going to happen for Solbakken this January. To be honest, that might be for the better.
Now, there is no doubt that Solbakken was brilliant against Celtic a few years back. But his recent form has been nothing to write home about.
Solbakken failed to make an impression at AS Roma. And his loan spell at Olympiacos has not gone according to plans either.
On the other hand, Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda have returned to fitness recently for Celtic. On the other hand, Luis Palma has been pretty good since the club in the summer as well. So, they have plenty of decent options on the wings.
