It is safe to say that there has been a lot of controversy regarding the ticketing situation of games between Celtic and the Rangers in recent years. The away allocation has been zero for the matches between the two clubs' men's teams for quite some time now. And now, it looks like it is going to be the same case for at least the upcoming game between their women's teams, set to be played at Ibrox this weekend.

it goes without saying that it is a highly anticipated fixture between the top two women's teams in Scotland this season so far. But unfortunately, there will be no away supporters at Ibrox this weekend.

In a statement released by Rangers on their official website, they announced that all tickets purchased by Celtic supporters for Sunday’s match at Ibrox have had to be cancelled. That is because groups of ‘risk’ supporters in a significant number had purchased tickets from the Hoops' allocation.

Celtic were unwilling to cancel just their tickets. As a result, they took the decision to cancel all the tickets.

Of course, it will be interesting to see which supporters have been deemed to be a 'risk' in this instance. This will certainly go down as another controversial decision when it comes to ticket allocation in the Glasgow Derby in recent years.

Hopefully, the Ghirls will be able to deal with not having Celtic fans present at Ibrox to show them support. Let's hope for a positive result.

As far as the ticketing situation in the Glasgow Derby goes, it is quite clear that some solution needs to be found as soon as possible, at all levels. The absence of away supporters takes a lot of the shine away from what is a special fixture.
