Rangers player's season could be over as Celtic close in on title
Celtic booked their place in the Scottish Cup final with a win over Aberdeen at Hampden Park. The Hoops took the hardest route possible, drawing 3-3 over 120 minutes and then winning on penalties to go through. They will be joined by the Rangers, who were able to get the better of Hearts, as there will be a fifth Glasgow Derby this season after all.
Philippe Clement has a lot to be worried about coming out of the game as well. The biggest headache might be surrounding the fitness of Abdallah Sima.
Sima had started the game against Hearts but was substituted off in the 16th minute. The Brighton & Hove Albion loanee pulled up early and was replaced by Ross McCausland. While it did not have an effect on the result of the match, it could end up having one on the rest of the Rangers' season.
As reported by Football Scotland, Sima could be set for another spell on the sidelines and his season could potentially be over. The extent of his latest setback remains to be seen.
Rangers player's season could be over as Celtic close in on title
Sima recently spent a spell out on the sidelines, only returning to the pitch in late March. Considering that he has arguably been the Rangers' best player this season, his picking up another injury will be a major concern for Clement. According to Transfermarkt, the Senegal international has scored 16 goals and provided 2 assists in 37 appearances this season.
Sima even managed to score in the recent Glasgow Derby. So, if ends up being unavailable for the next one or both, it could be a problem for the Rangers.
Obviously, Celtic cannot spend any time thinking about that. They have a lot of issues of their own and a couple of trophies to compete for.
