Celtic fans have had a lot to be happy about over the past week or so. While Brendan Rodgers' side stayed in the winning lane, the Rangers have stumbled more than once. Firstly, they lost to Ross County and handed the mathematical advantage in the title race back to the Hoops. Then they followed that result up with a goalless draw against Dundee FC.

These two results mean that at the end of the first phase of the Premiership season, Celtic have a three-point lead over the Rangers. And there is a Glasgow Derby left to be played at Parkhead as well.

So, all things considered, Celtic have to be considered as the favourites to go on and win the Premiership title from here. But it is a position that they cannot take for granted. After all, we have already seen them let slip a much bigger lead than this already.

But it looks like there might be a lack of belief in the Ibrox camp right now. As reported by Glasgow Times, when asked if his team can come back from the brink again, as was the case when they suffered a Derby defeat in December, Dujon Sterling said:

"We just have to have that belief that we can.

"Back then we had the togetherness, we had the belief. We still have the togetherness but I don't know if the belief is there. I think everyone has to switch their minds so that we can have that belief we can do this."

Of course, the Rangers' downturn in form has not been limited to just the last two games. They have been struggling for some time now.

Have Philippe Clement's side run out of steam? Or are they just going through a rough patch of form and results?

Whichever may be the case, it has certainly had a positive impact on Celtic. It is not just their own wins, but also the Rangers' results, which must have boosted the Hoops. Let's just hope that they can finish the job and get over the title race.
