It is pretty safe to say that the two Glasgow teams are going through very different moments right now. Celtic are looking to rebuild their season after stumbling numerous times in recent weeks. On the other hand, the Rangers are having a great moment. Philippe Clement's side recently won the Scottish League Cup and also topped their Europa League group. Overall, their results have certainly improved since the change in managers.

So, most of the pressure will be on Celtic when the two teams meet in a week at Parkhead for the last game of the year. And arguably the most important as well.

Celtic need to win this one. Otherwise, they will be in serious trouble. Of course, considering how they have been performing lately, they cannot make the mistake of looking past Dundee FC, who they face away from home in midweek before the Glasgow Derby.

All that being said, the Glasgow Derby could prove to be the turning point as well, if it is Celtic who win. Once again, things will start to look a lot merrier at Parkhead while Clement will be under some real pressure for the first time since becoming the Rangers' manager a couple of months back.

Rangers player makes bold claim before facing Celtic

Amidst all this, one Rangers player has made a bold statement. As reported by the Daily Record, Dujon Sterling said:

"Winning that first trophy means we are hungry for more by the end of the season. We want to rack up as much silverware as we can. Now that we have one - the ambition is to go and get more now."

Celtic will surely want to have a say in that. The Hoops might be going through a bad patch of form at the moment but one has to remember that they were in control of the title race for the most part. In fact, they still lead the table but the Rangers can go ahead if they win their games in hand.

There is no reason that Celtic could not get their campaign back on track though. All they need is a few good results and for Brendan Rodgers to get the best out of the players available to him at the moment.
