Celtic got the job done against Hearts this weekend, putting the pressure on the Rangers to win themselves when they take on Kilmarnock. Brendan Rodgers' side now sit six points clear at the top although they have played a game more than the Ibrox club. With the title race so tight, it is very possible that it could all come down to the upcoming Glasgow Derby at Parkhead.

Celtic have a pretty good record in Glasgow Derbies over the past few years. They can take nothing for granted though. Records and form matter little in games like these.

So, Celtic will need to bring their A-game next weekend if they are to win the Glasgow Derby against the Rangers. Admittedly, even a draw would be a solid result for the club. It is defeat that they must avoid at all costs.

Some of Rodgers' comments leading up to the game have not gone down well with a section of the Rangers' support. As tweeted out by Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, the Celtic manager said "next Saturday we’ll have a bit of fun”.

Unsurprisingly, a lot of the Rangers' fans were not happy with Rodgers' comment. And the comment section reflected that.

Many brought up how Rodgers had left Celtic the last time around, as if that had anything to do with this. Some others predicted a Rangers victory next weekend and told the manager to keep the same energy then.

One has to wonder whether Rodgers was playing some mind games with his comment. He has been a manager for far too long to not know what kind of a reaction it was going to get.

He certainly managed to get a reaction out of a lot of the Rangers' supporters. Let's see if there's something similar from their players on the pitch next weekend as well.
