Celtic got past their opening Champions League game of the season quite easily. That is not something we have had the opportunity to say often over the years. But there is no other way to put it when you take their 5-1 win over Slovan Bratislava into account. Kyogo, Daizen Maeda, Arne Engels, Adam Idah and Liam Scales found the back of the net. If they were a bit more clinical, the scoreline would have been even more one-sided.

Of course, there were plenty of Rangers fans downplaying the result on social media. But let's not forget that Celtic won the Glasgow Derby by a 3-0 margin just earlier this month.

The fact of the matter is that Celtic look miles ahead of the Rangers at the moment. Not just to keen observers of the Scottish game but neutrals from an outside view of things as well.

Thierry Henry recently made some comments about Celtic. And they might not go down too well with Rangers supporters, but it is just the reality of the situation.

It is not hard to understand why some might think that Celtic have an easy time in the Scottish Premiership. As reported by Football Scotland, Henry said:

"It was a big night because, more often than not, when you are dominating your league, people think it’s easy to win your league.

"And they beat Rangers not so long ago. It’s easy, whatever they say."

Of course, if the Rangers don't want the league to look easy, they should try to take things down to the wire this season. At the moment, they are already five points behind Celtic, after having played the first five Premiership games of the campaign.

It remains to be seen if the Rangers can put up a genuine title challenge this season. Never say never in football. But at the moment, it looks unlikely. Of course, it does not take long for things to change in the beautiful game.
