When Celtic fans feel a bit down, you can trust the Rangers to lift the mood. It was merely days ago that the Hoops suffered a 7-1 defeat at the hands of Borussia Dortmund away at Signal Iduna Park in the UEFA Champions League. One of the worst results in the club's storied history without a shadow of a doubt.
On that night, the Rangers supporters had taken the opportunity to make a few jokes about Celtic. Perhaps forgetting that the Ibrox club had a big European test coming as well.
Well, that test has come and gone. And it would be safe to say that the Rangers did not pass with flying colours. They lost 4-1 at home to Lyon.
It is no surprise that their fans were not happy with the result. And they made their feelings quite clear on social media as Lyon found the back of the net for the fourth time on the night:

Well, it looks like Hall of Fame captain, James Tavernier, did not impress with his display on the night. And neither did their manager, Philippe Clement, whose time at Ibrox has been shaky to say the least. If things don't improve soon, he might be shown the exit door despite signing a long-term contract extension very recently.
As for Celtic, this result does not really make a difference. They lost badly against Borussia Dortmund away in Germany. That is the reality of the situation. It does not matter whether the Rangers did the same or not.
The focus has to be on improving in Europe. It had looked like they were in the real direction after a 5-1 win in the Champions League opener against Slovan Bratislava. Hopefully, we get to see more of that moving forward.
