Going into the Glasgow Derby, everybody knew that the result was going to have major implications on the Premiership title race. Even a draw would have been a great result for Celtic but the Hoops went one step better, getting a 2-1 win against the Rangers. That means that the title race is virtually over. With two more league games to go, Brendan Rodgers' side are six points ahead and are 7 ahead on goal difference as well.

It would be a miracle if the Rangers go on to win the league from this position. But it looks like their manager, Philippe Clement, is not ready to concede defeat in the title race just yet despite his side's 2-1 loss at Parkhead. He does acknowledge the improbability of the situation though.

Of course, that is what you expect a manager to say in this situation. But the chances of there being another twist in the title race are slim to none.

As reported by Football Scotland, Clement said while speaking to Sportsound:

"I never accept until it's mathematically sure but it's a really long shot now. I'm not naïve in that, we need to focus on three points against Dundee, then we can see further, nothing more."

Celtic's next game is an away trip to Rugby Park to take on Kilmarnock. Rodgers' side will surely be looking to officially finish the title race then and there.

If by any chance that does not happen, they will get another chance to do it. Their final league game of the season is against St Mirren at home and all Celtic fans are looking forward to celebrating a third straight league triumph on that day.

Of course, it is very possible that Celtic could win the league without even winning any of their remaining games. But let's just hope that they do it in style. It has been a long and unpredictable season but all's well that ends well.
