Celtic have made an unexpectedly slow start to the January transfer window. With almost two weeks gone, they are yet to make a signing. Things will hopefully pick up pace over the next few weeks and some fresh faces will walk through the Parkhead door. The first of those arrivals seems to be on the verge of happening.

It is a potential move that has divided the opinion of the fanbase. It looks like Celtic are set to get a deal done for Nicolas Kuhn of Rapid Vienna.

As reported by Football Scotland, an agreement is very close between the clubs with Rapid Vienna already well underway in looking for a replacement for Kuhn. The fee being discussed is around £2.8 million. Clubs in Germany and Italy registered an interest but the German winger's heart is set on Glasgow.

So, it looks like Celtic signing Kuhn is only a matter of time. There are many who feel that the club do not need to sign another winger. But at the same time, the German winger does bring a lot of good qualities to the table.

Kuhn might have failed to make a single appearance for clubs like RB Leipzig, Ajax and Bayern Munich, but he has been enjoying a great season at Rapid Vienna. His output in the final third has been excellent.

The 24-year-old seems to have finally found his feet in the senior game. He also has a lot of attributes that a winger needs to succeed in Brendan Rodgers' style of football.

He has good pace and acceleration, dribbling ability, the composure and vision to make things happen in the final third and of course, experience of being at top clubs, even though he did not break into the first-team. It remains to be seen how that all translates to Celtic.
