It has been quite some time since Odsonne Edouard left Celtic. He departed in the summer of 2021 in order to join Crystal Palace, following an excellent four-year run in Glasgow. His time in London has not proven to be the grand success that many had expected and his long-term future is now up in the air.

After three underwhelming seasons, it is possible that Crystal Palace could look to part ways with Edouard. There has even been speculation that he has been made available for transfer this summer. Let's see how things unfold.

Edouard was back in Glasgow recently, but not to play football. He was invited as one of the special guests to the Celtic Player of the Year awards night at the Hydro. It was the first time that he was back in front of the club's fans since his exit.

It looks like Edouard still maintains an eye on the club but as a fan. As reported by Football Scotland, when asked if he still follows the team's fortunes, he told Celtic TV:

"Yeah, every game like a fan. And I'm happy about the win yesterday and I hope we will finish well and take the title."

Could we see Edouard back in a Celtic jersey someday? Well, never say never in football. But pulling off such a move anytime in the near future would be difficult.

Crystal Palace were believed to have shelled out a transfer fee around £15 million to sign him in 2021. And the Eagles would surely want to bring back in as much of that figure as possible.

The problem they might face is that Edouard has not enjoyed a good time in England. Since joining Crystal Palace, he has scored only 21 goals. Just for comparison's sake, he managed more than that in three of his four seasons with Celtic.

If Edouard were available for a decent transfer fee, it would not be a bad idea for Celtic to try and bring him back. The club do need another striker and the Frenchman is proven at Parkhead and then some.
