Adam Idah has proven to be a rare transfer success story for Celtic this season. When the Republic of Ireland international was signed on loan from Norwich City in the winter, it was not a move that impressed the supporters, who had been hoping for someone proven and experienced. Names like Bojan Miovski and Lawrence Shankland had been linked with the club.

Idah's record at Norwich City might not have been impressive but he has done well at Celtic. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 7 goals and provided 2 assists in 14 appearances and 656 minutes of football for the Hoops.

Not just his numbers but Idah's overall performances have been solid as well. And it would have safe to say that he has been successful in changing the minds of a lot of Celtic supporters, who now want him to be signed on a permanent basis from Norwich City in the summer. It would take a decent transfer fee to do that though.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Celtic will have to shell out at least £5 million to sign Idah this summer. That’s the minimum transfer fee Norwich City are set to want for the on-loan Republic of Ireland striker.

£5 million is a significant transfer fee for Celtic. And as a result, they must think carefully about whether they are gonna push for a move to sign Idah permaenently or not.

That kind of a figure might be enough to sign Miovski from Aberdeen. He seems to have a much more natural goalscorer and is much more proven than Idah, especially in Scotland.

While Idah has done well, he remains a cover striker for Kyogo. Also, his scoring record from open play remains somewhat inconsistent. Of course, more than half of the Irishman's appearances have been off the bench. Also, at 23 years of age, time is on his side and he should improve moving forward.
