Norwich City make decision about Celtic's offer for Adam Idah
Adam Idah's loan spell at Celtic Park was a grand success. The Irish striker exceeded all expectations that were set for him when he arrived in the winter from Norwich City. Most fans were underwhelmed by the decision to bring in someone who did not have a good goalscoring record with the Canaries. But it would be safe to say that the 23-year-old had no problem finding the back of the net for the Hoops.
Idah mostly played the role of an impact substitute while at Celtic. He still managed to score 9 goals for the club in the second half of the season.
That includes some important goals. He scored a fantastic one at Ibrox in the 3-3 draw. But the most important one was surely the winner against the Rangers at Hampden Park in the final of the Scottish Cup.
Unfortunately, that could turn out to be his last game for Celtic. The club did not have a buyout option included in the loan deal meaning that Norwich City hold most of the cards right now in terms of any potential permanent transfer for Idah this summer.
Norwich City make decision about Celtic's offer for Adam Idah
As reported by Sky Sports, Celtic have made an approach to sign Idah on a permanent basis, but the two clubs remain far apart in their valuation of the striker. The Hoops have offered around £4 million but that is not a figure Norwich City would consider.
When Idah arrived at Celtic Park, there were some reports in the media which suggested that a £3 million fee would be enough to sign him in the summer. But it looks like his transfer valuation has gone significantly up following a successful loan spell at Parkhead.
That is understandable. At the same time, Norwich City also have a new manager in place, who would surely want a look at the striker himself before making any decision on his long-term future.
