Neil Lennon could be open to managing Celtic rivals
Neil Lennon enjoyed a very successful time at Celtic, both as a player and a manager. Of course, nobody questions the ability that he had on the pitch. There are more doubters about what he can do in the dugout. And there is some reason for that as well. At the end of the day, one cannot define his stint as Parkhead boss by just the 2020/21 season though.
Lennon won a lot of trophies as Celtic manager over his two spells in the Parkhead hot seat. That includes a treble, a feat not many have achieved.
Another club were Lennon did well in a managerial capacity is Hibernian. But it has been suggested that the North Irishman could be open to taking up the Hearts job if the offer arrived at his table.
This suggestion has been made by one of Lennon's former Celtic teammates, John Hartson. As reported by the Daily Record, the pundit told Go Radio:
"I don't think that would bother him too much.
"He's quite thick skinned. I know he did really well at Hibs, he got them promoted from the Championship to the Premiership.
"Listen, I don't think the Hibs fans would like it. But at the end of the day, if Neil was to be offered the job, I don't think his excuse would be because he managed Hibs. I don't know exactly the way he would think, but I think he would see it as an opportunity to get back into the game in Scotland with a really good club. I don't think it would put him off, I'll be honest with you."

Of course, Hearts have made a bad start to the campaign and that saw them part ways with Steven Naismith. That means that they are in search of a manager.
As is always the case whenever a new Scottish managerial job becomes available, the name of Lennon as a potential candidate is expected to pop up at one point or another. Of course, it would be a bit of a surprise if he did end up getting the role.
Lennon's last few jobs in management have not ended well. Of course, we all know about how things played out for Celtic in the 20/21 campaign. He left in the middle of that season.
After that, he had a spell at Omonia Nicosia. While he guided them to silverware, his spell in Cypriot was a short one. And his most recent job, as Rapid Bucharest manager, lasted just a few months.
