Manchester United legend drops potential Celtic hint
Celtic have seen four players leave the club this summer already. Sead Haksabanovic, Rocco Vata and Oh Hyeon-gyu have completed permanent moves away from Parkhead. On the other hand, Marco Tilio has left on loan to join Melbourne City FC again. On the other hand, the Hoops are yet to see a fresh face arrive.
That could be about to change soon though. It is believed that it is only a matter of time before Kasper Schmeichel completes a move to Celtic to replace Joe Hart, who retired at the end of last season.
Brendan Rodgers has worked quite a bit with Schmeichel in the past, during their time together at Leicester City. So, he will know exactly what he will be getting with the Danish number one.
It is unclear at what point the deal is now, but one would expect it to be official soon. His legendary father might potentially have dropped a subtle hint already. As reported by The Celtic Star, Peter Schmeichel appeared on TV ahead of England vs Spain sporting a green and white tie.

The colour combination of the tie does seem interesting considering the speculation about Schmeichel's future. On the other hand, it could be a matter of reading too much into things.
Whichever maybe the case, it does not really matter. Several reliable outlets have already reported that Schmeichel's deal to join Celtic this summer is as good as done.
Of course, there are mixed feelings amongst fans when it comes to the move. On one hand, one has to appreciate the experience, leadership and proven quality that Schmeichel would bring to the table.
But on the other hand, there was a hope that Celtic would sign a long-term goalkeeper this summer. Schmeichel is not that at 37 years of age.
