Manchester United reportedly eyeing Celtic player
Things seem to be turning around for Celtic once again. They now once again hold a mathematical advantage in the title race. Having played a game more than the Rangers, they sit four points ahead of their Glasgow rivals. That is after Philippe Clement's side lost this weekend against Ross County to put the Hoops back in the driver's seat.
At the moment, the Rangers seem to be the ones struggling for form. They have won just two of their previous seven games in all competitions. Both of those victories have come against Hibernian.
No matter how this season ends, Celtic will need to strengthen in the summer transfer window. But at the same time, they might have a difficult time keeping some of their best players at the club beyond this campaign.
One such player is Matt O'Riley. He has been linked with a move away for a long time. And this summer feels like when he will be departing the club, after enjoying a stellar individual campaign.
Manchester United reportedly eyeing Celtic player
Some of Europe's best teams seem to be interested in the Celtic standout. As reported by the Mirror (via Express), Atletico Madrid are expected to ‘revive’ their interest in O’Riley while Inter Milan and Girona are also monitoring his situation closely. Several Premier League sides are also believed to be keen on him, with Manchester United ‘monitoring’ the midfielder since 2022.
Of course, Celtic are always open to the idea of letting players go for the right offer. That's how the club works.
For O'Riley, that offer might have to be north of £25 million. And considering the level of teams seemingly interested in the Danish international midfielder, it would not be a surprise if one or more are willing to shell out that kind of a figure.
