Manchester City ready to make offer to Celtic player
While Celtic are still in the running for a Premiership and Scottish Cup double, it is quite clear that there will be plenty of changes at the club in the summer. Brendan Rodgers' return to the club has been somewhat underwhelming, all things considered, as the Hoops have been inconsistent throughout the season. There is a need to strengthen the squad all over the pitch.
One position where there most definitely will be an addition made is goalkeeper. That is because Joe Hart has decided to retire at the end of the campaign.
Celtic have been linked with plenty of goalkeepers in recent times. Caoimhin Kelleher of Liverpool, Ugurcan Cakir of Trabzonspor, Anthony Patterson of Sunderland and Michael Zetterer of Werder Bremen are just some of the names believed to be on their radar.
On the other hand, it looks like Hart will have plenty of options after his retirement. There has already been talk of him potentially staying on at Celtic in a non-footballing role. And now, a return to Manchester City seems to be on the cards as well.
Manchester City ready to make offer to Celtic player
As reported by the Daily Record, Manchester City are set to offer Hart an emotional return. It will likely be for a non-footballing capacity or an ambassadorial role and the Premier League club are ready to hold talks.
Of course, Hart is considered a legend at Manchester City. He spent twelve years there and won plenty of silverware, including a couple of Premier League titles. He also won the Golden Glove four times, a record he shares with Petr Cech.
So, it is not hard to see why Manchester City might be keen on a reunion following his retirement. And with Hart seemingly not interested in a coaching role, it could suit all parties involved.
