Adam Idah's signing on loan in the winter might not have been met with a lot of optimism from Celtic fans but it would be safe to say that the Irishman quickly won them over. He was a key part in the club's good form late in the campaign, which helped them secure a Premiership and Scottish Cup double.

Idah scored 9 goals during his time at Celtic. It is also worth pointing out that for the majority of his time at the club, he played the role of an impact substitute.

Idah ended his loan spell at Celtic by scoring the winner in the Scottish Cup final against the Rangers at Hampden Park. When it comes to goodbyes, it does not get better than that. But most fans are hoping that that is not the last that we see of him in the Hoops.

Celtic did not have a buyout clause included in the loan deal and that has proven to be a major problem come this summer. Norwich City have all the leverage and with a new manager in place, it looks like it will take time for Idah's future to be sorted.

Major update on Adam Idah's potential Celtic return

Johannes Hoff Thorup is the new Norwich City boss and he seems to be keen to assess Idah. As reported by Football Scotland, the manager said:

"Yes, definitely with that guy. He's an exciting player.

"And he's from here, and he's been in the club so many years and can do dangerous stuff up front.

"He's fast, he moves well, he gets into these areas in the box where you decide games.

"So definitely, I will have a look at him, I think otherwise it will be stupid."

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Idah at Norwich City. Not too long ago, it looked like he had not much to look forward to with the Canaries. But now, following a successful loan stint at Celtic and a new manager in place, that might no longer be the case.

Even if Celtic were to get a chance to sign Idah on a permanent basis, it is expected to come late in the summer transfer window. And it will also be interesting to see what kind of fee Norwich City look for in that scenario.
