Celtic are yet to make their first signing of January but the arrival of Nicolas Kuhn seems like only a matter of time. After that is over the line, fans will be hoping for more additions to be made this month. There are plenty of positions in Brendan Rodgers' squad still in need of reinforcements. One cannot forget how much the Hoops were struggling just a few weeks back.
Left-back is one position where Celtic could do with some strengthening. Greg Taylor's performances have come under the microscope this season. On the other hand, Alexandro Bernabei's situation has not improved and he does not seem to have much of a future at Parkhead.
Owen Beck is someone who shined in the first half of the season, while on loan at Dundee FC from Liverpool. He has arguably been the best left-back in the Premiership so far in the ongoing campaign.
Beck recently returned to Liverpool from Dundee FC. It had looked like he would remain at Anfield for the second half of the season, owing to their injury problems. But things appear to have taken an unexpected turn.
Liverpool player looks set to join Celtic in January
Rumours have picked up momentum today. As tweeted by Transfers Scotland, Beck looks likely to be joining Celtic on loan.
Considering how good Beck was in the first half of the season, while on loan at Dundee FC, signing him would have to be considered a major coup. Now, it remains to be seen if Celtic can get a deal done for him or not.
If Celtic do manage to sign Beck on loan from Liverpool for the second half of the season, one would hope that it would have an option to buy included in it. Despite his decent performances at Dundee FC, it is hard to imagine him having a regular place in Jurgen Klopp's side.
