Celtic are expected to be busy in the upcoming summer transfer window. The club might still be in the mix for the Premiership and the Scottish Cup but the performances over the course of the season have proved that there are a number of areas in which they need to improve. And that is before any potential high-profile exits, which are pretty much inevitable.

One area where Celtic will definitely need to strengthen is between the posts. Joe Hart, who has been their number one goalkeeper since he joined the club from Tottenham Hotspur in 2021, will be retiring after this season.

Hart might have received a decent bit of criticism over his time at Celtic Park but nobody can deny that he has been in good form this season. Also, one cannot overlook the value of the experience he brings to the squad.

All things considered, Celtic will have some large gloves to fill. And it looks like a Liverpool player sits atop their transfer wish list for the summer.

Liverpool player named Celtic's number one choice

As reported by HITC, Caoimhin Kelleher is Celtic'snumber one choice to take the place of Hart. The club are already trimming their wage bill in an attempt to free up funds.

Signing Kelleher will not be an easy task though. The Liverpool goalkeeper has been immensely impressive whenever given a chance.

With Jurgen Klopp leaving Anfield in the summer and a new manager coming in, Kelleher could be handed a fresh chance to show he is good enough to start ahead of Alisson. Even if he was to leave, Celtic would have a tough time matching Liverpool's transfer valuation of the player. It is believed that the club have turned down offers in the region of £15 million for the goalkeeper recently.
