Liverpool hand Caoimhin Kelleher transfer boost to Celtic
Celtic need to sign a goalkeeper or two this summer. Joe Hart has already announced his decision to retire at the end of the season. And he is not the only one the goalkeeping department could be losing soon. Benjamin Siegrist has barely featured since his move to Parkhead in 2022 as a free agent and it would be a surprise if he remained at the club for much longer.
Celtic have been linked with plenty of goalkeepers in recent times. For many, the dream signing would be Caoimhin Kelleher of Liverpool.
But like any dream worth achieving, this will be a difficult one to pull off. The Republic of Ireland international has made a significant contribution for Jurgen Klopp's side this season, in the absence of Alisson Becker.
Yet, with Alisson fit again, Kelleher found himself back on the bench in the recent Crystal Palace. Will he be okay with continuing to play a secondary role at Anfield, especially after getting a taste of consistent first-team football this season?

There is some good news for Celtic in this regard. As reported by the Daily Mail (via GOAL), Liverpool are unlikely to stand in Kelleher's way if he wants to leave the club in search of more game time.
Kelleher would be an excellent signing for Celtic. There is absolutely no doubt about that. But it will be incredibly tough to make a deal happen, even if Liverpool are willing to part ways with him in the summer.
Firstly, Celtic would have a difficult time matching whatever transfer fee it is that Liverpool would look for. Secondly, there are expected to be a ton of clubs from the top five European leagues interested in signing Kelleher, if he was available in the summer.
