Liverpool's Caoimhin Kelleher sends message to Celtic player

Celtic will be on the lookout for a number one goalkeeper in the upcoming summer transfer window. Joe Hart will retire at the end of this campaign. The Englishman has been the club's first-choice between the posts since his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur and played a significant role in three-straight league-winning campaigns.

So, it will not be easy to replace someone like Hart. Not just his abilities as a player but his quality as a leader as well.

One of the more high-profile goalkeepers Celtic have been linked with in recent times is Caoimhin Kelleher of Liverpool. The Republic of Ireland international is the cover option to Alisson at Anfield and there has been speculation that he could be looking to leave in search of a regular starting spot somewhere else.

Amid all this, Kelleher left a nice comment on international teammate, Adam Idah's Instagram post following Celtic's league triumph. The Liverpool goalkeeper commented, "Love it you", accompanied by a clapping emoji and a green heart emoji.

Of course, a lot of Celtic fans would love to see Kelleher line up for the Hoops come next season. But making a move happen would be very difficult.

It is believed that Liverpool have already turned away offers in the region of £15 million for Kelleher. For context, Celtic's current transfer record is the £9 million fee they shelled out to sign Odsonne Edouard.

So, it is difficult to see them agreeing a transfer fee with Liverpool to sign Kelleher. But never say never in football.

There is no doubt that he would be a very good addition to this Celtic team. Kelleher has shown his quality whenever given a chance at Liverpool as well but unfortunately for him, Alisson might be the best goalkeeper in the world.
