Lazio have already made move for Celtic player
While most of the speculation surrounding Celtic is regarding potential signings, the club will be looking to keep their best talents beyond this season as well. Of course, that will be easier said than done, especially when you consider that some are not getting much playing time in Brendan Rodgers' team.
Rocco Vata is someone who has been considered as one of the best talents to come out of the Celtic academy for some time now. He has been a standout performer for their B Team as well.
Yet, that has not translated into chances for the senior team. Vata has only been handed a couple of substitute appearances this season, and even managed to score a goal against Buckie Thistle.
Vata's contract runs out in the summer. While it is believed that Celtic want to hand him a long-term extension, it would be understandable if the youngster chose to leave, in light of the lack of chances he has received at Parkhead. On the other hand, clubs around Europe already seem to be lining up for his signature.
Lazio have already made move for Celtic player
As reported by Citta Celeste (via Sport Witness), Lazio are keen on signing Vata from Celtic. He is one of those who the Italian club ‘have moved’ for, and now they’re waiting for a response. There’s no rush, as the replies are only expected between the end of April and the beginning of May.
Of course, Lazio are not the only Italian club believed to hold an interest in Vata. It remains to be seen what the future holds for him but Italy does feel like his most likely destination.
A lot of players have left Scotland in recent years to move to Italy and done well in Serie A. Could Vata be the next name on that list?
