Celtic find themselves in a difficult position right now, having let slip of a significant lead in the Scottish Premiership and falling behind the Rangers in the title race for the first time in a long time. It will be interesting to see how Brendan Rodgers' side respond to this latest setback. Their performances so far this season will not fill the fans with confidence regarding a turnaround though.

On top of all this, there are certain players who could be looking to leave the club as soon as possible. One such player might be Liel Abada.

Abada signed a contract extension with Celtic not too long ago. But considering the current circumstances, it might be best for both parties to part ways.

John Hartson believes that Abada will be on his way out of Parkhead soon. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, the Celtic hero said while talking about the winger's situation on The Go Radio Football Show:

"I believe he will go. I think that’s the talk. And he wants to do is what is best for him and his family.

“He’s not a regular at this moment in time. I don’t want to go into what’s happening around his country and everything else, but I think there’s been sort of in-depth talks about him leaving the club.

“Where he goes next, I have no idea. But you look at some press conferences, and listening to Brendan talking as well, it very much looks as if he and his agents will be will be pretty much looking for another club. That’s how I see it."

Abada was one of Celtic's most effective players under the management of Ange Postecoglou. We have seen those numbers drop considerably this season though and he has not looked himself, especially since his return from injury.

Abada has even missed recent games due to not being in the right frame of mind. And it is very clear that things cannot continue like this forever.

There had been talk of a potential winter exit but it did not materialise. One cannot rule out the idea of an out-of-window move for Abada though. Recent rumours have linked him with the MLS.

Earlier, there had been suggestions that Celtic did not want to let Abada, who was rated at a fee around £10 million in the summer, leave on a loan. They might have to reconsider that stance though, because if he continues to miss games or not perform well, his transfer value will continue to drop.
