James Milner sends message to Celtic player on Instagram

Celtic's league season came to an end in the best way possible, by lifting the title. For a while, it had looked like Brendan Rodgers' side were going to finish empty-handed after letting the Rangers take the lead in the race. But while the Hoops held their nerve and delivered results in the business end of the campaign, Philippe Clement's side could not.

The league win must have been extra emotional for one Celtic player in particular. Joe Hart will be bringing the curtain down on his legendary career at the end of this season.

Hart has been Celtic's number one between the posts since arriving in the summer of 2021 from Tottenham Hotspur. During that period of time, he has gone from a criticised veteran signing to a beloved figure amongst the fans.

Especially this season, the Celtic fans have embraced Hart. And they gave him a brilliant farewell in his final appearance at Parkhead. Of course, the Englishman has one more game to play before he calls it a day. The Scottish Cup final against the Rangers at Hampden Park next weekend.

Hart posted an emotional message to Celtic supporters on Instagram after the final league game of the season, which was also his last appearance at Parkhead. And one of the players to leave a comment on that post was James Milner.

Hart and Milner played together for years at Manchester City. He commented three clap emojis accompanied by a heart.

Milner will continue his career on the pitch as he recently signed a one-year contract extension with Brighton & Hove Albion. As for Hart, it remains to be seen what his next step is. Although he does not seem to be interested in coaching, there have been rumours about a return to Manchester City in a different capacity.
