Italian club readying move for £3 million Celtic defender
A lot has been made about the potential signings Celtic will make in the upcoming summer transfer window. But on the other hand, there are quite a few players who could head in the opposite direction as well. For example, the likes of Matt O'Riley and Kyogo have been linked with moves away and most fans will be hoping that they end up staying on at Parkhead for the foreseeable future as they are key to the team's success.
There are also several other players though, who are not getting much playing time in Brendan Rodgers' side right now. In their case, a move away might not be a bad idea at all and would suit all parties.
Gustaf Lagerbielke is someone who falls under that category. The Swedish defender was signed last summer for a transfer fee believed to be around £3 million.
With Carl Starfelt leaving the club, Lagerbielke was expected to compete for the vacant starting spot with fellow summer arrival, Maik Nawrocki. Neither played much football over the course of the season though. Instead, it was Liam Scales who emerged as the new starter in the heart of defence.

Despite Lagerbielke's lack of playing time at Celtic, it looks like there is still quite a bit of interest in his signature. And if he were to leave this summer, Italy appears to be his most likely destination.
As reported by Tutto Mercato (via Football Scotland), Lecce will make another attempt to bring Lagerbielke to Italy. However Frosinone are set to rival them for his signature.
It is uncertain what the futue holds for Lagerbielke. He had some big moments in his debut campaign for Celtic, including the winner against Feyenoord in the Champions League. But all things considered, the time might be right to part ways.
