Celtic fans have been left disappointed by the club's lack of activity in the ongoing January transfer window. The Hoops have signed only one player so far, Nicolas Kuhn from Rapid Vienna. On the other hand, they have been pretty active when it comes to outgoings and it would not be a surprise if a few more head for the exit door before February.

Nat Phillips already left Celtic this month, with his loan deal from Liverpool coming to an end. Now, it looks like another centre-back could depth before the January transfer window closes.

As tweeted by Anthony Joseph, Lecce still want Gustaf Lagerbielke on loan before the window closes. They are still trying to work on a deal for the Swedish centre-back.

Lagerbielke was signed by Celtic from IF Elfsborg in the summer for a transfer fee believed to be around €3.5 million. But it does not look like the Swedish centre-back fits into Brendan Rodgers' plans and an exit could be on the horizon.

Celtic actually have a pretty decent defensive record when Lagerbielke has been on the pitch. He had a standout moment for the Hoops as well, scoring the winner against Feyenoord, in what was the club's first Champions League win since 2017.

Yet, that has not seen him move up the centre-back pecking order at Celtic. And moving away on loan to get his career back on track might be the right step for the Swedish international at this point in time.

The Italian Serie A might actually be a good fit for Lagerbielke and suit his strengths as a centre-back. There is not much time left in the January transfer window though, so if Lecce want to make a move happen, they will have to be quick.
