Gary Lineker offers Celtic news to Micah Richards and Alan Shearer
Gary Lineker is one of the best players in the history of English football. He played for clubs like Leicester City, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur as well as Barcelona. Since his retirement from the game, he has carved out a very successful career for himself in the media. And he appears to have been very impressed with what he has seen from Celtic lately.
Of course, Celtic would have caught the eye of many with their 5-1 win over Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League. But they have been pretty close to perfect in domestic competition as well.
In the league, they have won all six of their games so far, while not conceding a single goal. That is quite the run, even by Celtic's standards.
Lineker seems to have taken notice. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, while speaking to Alan Shearer and Micah Richards about the weekend results, he said on The Rest is Football podcast:
"I just want to mention Celtic. Have you seen, they won six nil again today, but they’ve played six games, they’ve not conceded yet, you know?
“20 goals for, none against. And you say, well, they’re probably running away with it but Aberdeen won again and they’re now six wins from six."

Well, Celtic are on a nine-game winning streak to start of the 24/25 season. But that run will face its toughest challenge yet when they have to take on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, away at Signal Iduna Park.
On paper, this is certainly the toughest game that Celtic have been handed in the league phase of the competition. But that does not mean that their chances should be counted out before a ball has been kicked.
On the contrary, Celtic might have a decent opportunity to get a result away in Germany. That is because Borussia Dortmund have struggled at the back this season while the Hoops have a high-flying forward line that has been scoring for fun in the ongoing campaign. Let's see who comes out on top in midweek.
