There has not been much movement around Celtic with regards to transfers and understandably, fans are now worried. The expectation was that the club would sign at least a striker and a left-back this month. Another goalkeeper would have been ideal as well. None of those positions have been strengthened.

The only signing Celtic have made this month is bringing in Nicolas Kuhn from Rapid Vienna for a transfer fee believed to be around £3 million. Many feel that another winger was not needed considering the depth in that position.

Still, most would have been delighted if the club brought back Jota from Al-Ittihad. Unfortunately, that did not happen.

Jota looks set to leave Al-Ittihad though. And his next destination looks likely to be the Premier League.

Former Celtic player reaches agreement with West Ham United

As tweeted by Santi Aouna, an agreement has been reached between Jota and West Ham United. He is waiting for the green light from the clubs to travel to the UK for medicals. Positive talks are taking place between the two teams.

One would expect the move to go through before the January transfer window closes. Jota is not playing much for Al-Ittihad at all and does not seem to be in the manager's plans. Thus, there is not much point in him sitting in the reserves.

West Ham United might be an excellent club to bring his career back on track. David Moyes' side are enjoying a great season, as they currently sit sixth in the Premier League table.

Of course, Jota was excellent during his two seasons at Celtic, helping the club win five trophies during that period of time, including a treble. He is someone who rose to the occasion and scored in the big games as well. We can only wish him the best of luck for the future.
