Fabrizio Romano confirms Watford talks to sign Celtic player
There are quite a few Celtic players who have been linked with a move away in this summer transfer window. It remains to be seen what the future holds. The departure of some will have a major impact on Brendan Rodgers' team. On the other hand, there are those who are playing much and it would make sense for both parties to part ways. And then there are those who might not featuring a lot, but whose exit would come as a blow for the Hoops.
One would think that the name of Rocco Vata falls under the final category. He has barely gotten chances since the arrival of Rodgers as manager last summer.
Unsurprisingly, he has been linked with a move away from Celtic Park with his contract situation also playing a part in that. And now, it looks like an English club have opened talks.
As tweeted by Fabrizio Romano, Watford have opened talks to sign Vata. He has also received a new contract proposal from Celtic. There is no deal in place yet but talks are still on.

Vata is considered by many as the best talent at Celtic, which is backed up by his successes at the B Team level. But with his contract running out and his lack of opportunities at Parkhead, it feels like an exit is much more likely than him staying on.
Still, strangers things have happened in football. It is also worth remembering that he is 19 years of age and if he continues his development, chances are bound to come knocking in the future.
There seems to be plenty of interest in Vata's signature down south in England as well as Italy. So, it will be interesting to see what he decides to do next.
