Everton want to sign rising Celtic player this summer

Celtic have a number of players in their ranks who could leave in the summer. Some leaving would be a problem for the club, as they are playing regular football for Brendan Rodgers' side. Others not so much, as they have barely featured. Then there is a grey area, those who have not played a ton but whose exits would be a seen as a blow.

One player who falls under that category is Rocco Vata. The youngster has not played much for Celtic this season but is still viewed as arguably the best talent the club have in their ranks.

The issue for Celtic is that Vata's contract runs out in the summer. And with the amount of minutes that he has been given, there is no reason for him to not leave to be very honest.

There is no lack of interest in his signature either despite his lack of experience at the senior level. He has been linked with teams such as AC Milan already. And now, as tweeted by Harry Watkinson, Everton are one of several clubs keeping tabs on Vata.

Rodgers' handling of the situation has been confusing, to say the least. Celtic have struggled to bring through their youth standouts into the senior team for years and yet when a talent like Vata has come around, they have not really given him the chance to succeed.

There is no much more that he could have done at the B Team level. But his good performances have not been rewarded with more playing time for the first-team.

There have been rumours that Celtic want to agree a contract extension with him but it would be very understandable if Vata chose to leave. Especially with clubs like AC Milan, Atalanta, Everton and many more said to be interested in signing him.
