Celtic are expected to be busy in the January transfer window, with both incomings and outgoings. On one hand, it is quite clear that the club need to bring in quality players to the squad. On the other hand, there are quite a few who are not contributing much to Brendan Rodgers' team at the moment and parting ways would make sense for all parties involved.

One player whose long-term future at Celtic Park is in question is David Turnbull. The Scottish midfielder has emerged as a key part of Rodgers' plans in recent weeks.

He has scored in four straight league games and is the club's second highest goalscorer in the ongoing season, just behind Kyogo, who has played a lot more football than Turnbull. But the Scottish midfielder's contract runs out next summer.

Naturally, Celtic will need to be wary of the situation. If they cannot agree an extension with Turnbull soon, they must consider the possibility of transferring him in January rather than risk seeing him walk out as a free agent six months later.

Major Turnbull to AC Milan update amid Celtic exit rumours

Turnbull has recently been linked with a move to AC Milan. It goes without saying that San Siro would be an attractive destination for most players in the world.

But as reported by The Celtic Way, Turnbull will not be joining AC Milan in January. The links touting a £7 million transfer move are wide of the mark.

Many Celtic fans would be relieved to hear that. Turnbull has been one of the club's best sources of goals this season. When everybody is fit and on form, he might not be a starter in Rodgers' side, but how often has that been the case anyway? Let's hope the Hoops can agree an extension with him soon.
