Cristiano Ronaldo made the move to Al-Nassr last year but that has not been enough to crown them league champions. As a result, it looks like the club will continue to sign high-profile names and a Celtic hero seems to be on their radar. Now, it remains to be seen whether they are able to pull a blockbuster move off.

The player we are talking about is none other than Virgil van Dijk. It is at Celtic Park that the Dutchman became a household name before going on to reach the footballing mountaintop at Liverpool.

Van Dijk has won everything that is there to win at Liverpool and established himself as an all-time great. It is almost unbelievable that the top clubs in the Netherlands did not want to sign him at one point in time and he made the move to Celtic instead. The rest is history.

Now, 32 years of age, could we see Van Dijk leave European football and join Ronaldo at Al-Nassr? The move seems to be on the table.

As reported by MARCA, the general director of Al-Nassr met with Van Dijk's representative, putting on the table a contract that would make the Dutchman the highest-paid defender in the world. They want to build an even more competitive team.

Of course, we have seen several top players make the move away from Europe in recent years. Could Van Dijk be next to join that list? Time shall tell.

At 32, he is still performing at a very high level and appears ton have plenty of football left in the tank. There is not much reason for him to leave Liverpool either. He is their club captain and they are set to embark on a new chapter following the exit of Jurgen Klopp.
