Transfer business has certainly picked up pace at Celtic over the last few weeks. Two fresh faces have arrived in the form of Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo, and we have already seen both in action during pre-season. The Danish legend looked solid against Manchester City and is expected to be the number one moving forward. On the other hand, the 22-year-old has shown potential as well.

On the other hand, there are quite a few players who have left the club as well. A goalkeeper has now joined that quickly growing list.

For a long time, it was expected that Benjamin Siegrist would leave the club. He had not made a single appearance last season and made it to the bench on just one occasion. So, it was best for all parties to part ways.

The move has now taken place. Rapid Bucharest have announced on their official website that Siegrist has signed a contract with them valid for two seasons, with an option to extend for another year.

Siegrist's move had a Celtic connection as well. Rapid Bucharest are currently managed by Neil Lennon, who enjoyed immense success at Parkhead, both as a player and as a manager.

It is confusing why things never worked out for the Swiss player at Celtic Park to be honest. He had looked like a solid goalkeeper during his stint at Dundee United and had arrived at Parkhead amid high expectations.

But eventually, he found himself behind Scott Bain in the pecking order. So, it was the right step for everyone to look for a different solution.

Celtic now have two goalkeepers in place who should complement each other. On the other hand, we can only hope that Siegrist finds success in Romania and wish him the best.
