Chris Sutton makes worrying claim about Celtic-linked Adam Idah
Celtic had been linked with a number of strikers over the past few weeks. Names like Bojan Miovski, Lawrence Shankland, Mathias Kvistgaarden, Sydney van Hooijdonk, Danny Ings and a few more were rumoured to be on the radar of the Scottish champions. But it looks like it is a Norwich City striker who will be wearing the Hoops soon.
Adam Idah has come through the youth ranks at Norwich City and become a regular for their senior team, making more than a 100 appearances for the Canaries. But now, it looks like he is set to depart.
Celtic Park appears to be his next destination. Rumours suggest that a loan deal with an option to sign him permanently in the summer is close.
Chris Sutton, who represented both Celtic and Norwich City during his playing career, does not seem to be completely sure about the Hoops signing Idah though. He tweeted out:
"If this is true I’m not sure with the greatest respect it’s an upgrade on Oh… Idah needs to get away from Norwich and has potential but has had potential for years but he’s 100% in the development category and a long way from the finished article"

Celtic need a reliable goalscorer at this point in time. Kyogo's goal rate has dropped significantly this season, as it feels like Brendan Rodgers' system is not the right fit for him. On the other hand, Oh Hyeon-gyu has shown some flashes of quality but is not consistent enough to be handed the starting role anytime soon.
Unfortunately, Idah does not look like a consistent goalscorer. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 17 goals in 115 appearances for Norwich City so far.
He was a reliable goalscorer at the youth levels but that has not carried over to the senior game. Of course, it is about being in the right team and system as well.
At the end of the day, one should not count Idah out before we see him playing for Celtic. Of course, that is if a move does end up going through before the end of the January transfer window.
