Celtic have a vital game coming up this weekend, as they will welcome the Rangers to Parkhead for the final Glasgow Derby and match of the year. With how things are balanced in the Premiership table right now, this could very possibly be the most important game of the season. No matter what the result. the focus will then turn towards the January transfer window though.

Celtic have a lot of areas to work on next month. Fans are viewing this as the best opportunity to bring the season back on track after seeing Brendan Rodgers' team stumble on numerous occasions lately.

Celtic could do with reinforcements in a number of positions. But it looks like three are on top of their January transfer window wishlist.

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic will look to sign a striker, a central midfielder and a left winger in the January transfer window. A centre-forward is the number one priority. Rodgers is eager to add goals to the midfield engine room as well.

It is easy to see why Celtic might be looking to sign another striker next month. Kyogo and Oh Hyeon-gyu have not been prolific enough in front of goal so far this season. They both might also be away for the AFC Asian Cup soon.

Signing a goalscoring midfielder is understandable as well. Matt O'Riley has certainly made strides in that aspect this season. But other than him, there not be another reliable option with that attribute. David Turnbull does score a lot of goals but there are other areas where he needs to improve.

The links with another left winger are a bit confusing to be honest. Luis Palma has been somewhat inconsistent but even then, he has been one of Celtic's best players. Daizen Maeda is back now as well and Liel Abada is closing in on fitness too. Signing a left-back or a long-term goalkeeper might be a better choice.
