Celtic will need to sign a new number one in the upcoming summer transfer window. Joe Hart will be retiring after next weekend's Scottish Cup final against the Rangers, having been the Hoops' first-choice goalkeeper over the past three seasons. Neither Scott Bain nor Benjamin Siegrist are believed to be ready to take his place in the team.

Naturally, Celtic have been linked with a number of goalkeepers in recent times. Whether that be someone like Caoimhin Kelleher, who is currently playing for Liverpool. Or those who have been linked with a move to Anfield, like Anthony Patterson and Alex McCarthy.

Now, it looks like a former Manchester City goalkeeper is on their radar. But signing him could take a significant transfer fee.

As reported by journalist Alan Nixon via Patreon (via 67 Hail Hail), Celtic are said to be keeping tabs on Burnley's Arijanet Muric. He is likely to be available for a transfer fee somewhere in the region of £10 million this summer.

Muric came through the ranks at Manchester City and made a few appearances for them at the senior level as well. But he was never able to establish himself as an important part of Pep Guardiola's side, spending the majority of his time out on loan.

Muric ended up leaving Manchester City in the summer of 2022 in order to join Burnley. He played a key role in them getting promoted to the Premier League.

Once back in the Premier League, Muric was not given the same amount of opportunities though. Now, it remains to be seen what the future holds for him, as Burnley head back to the Championship. His current deal with the English club is believed to run until the summer of 2026, and it would take a significant figure to sign him.
