A lot of the signings Celtic made during the Ange Postecoglou went on to have great careers at Parkhead. Many of them have played key roles in winning two league titles already and the third one is hopefully coming this season. Strong recruitment was one of the key reasons why the Hoops were able to turn things around so quickly after the disastrous 2020/21 campaign. But that does not mean that they got everything right.

In fact, Celtic's recruitment during Postecoglou's second season at Parkhead was very ordinary. Only Alistair Johnston and Aaron Mooy managed to have a positive impact on the team.

One of the signings made in the summer of 2022, who ended up disappointing is Sead Haksabanovic. He left the club on loan this season and is currently at Stoke City, where he is having a difficult campaign as well.

Thus, it might be time for the club and the player to look for a long-term solution. And as reported by Fotboll Direkt, Celtic are prepared to part ways with Haksabanovic for a transfer fee equivalent to £2.2 million.

Haksabanovic's spell on loan at Stoke City started very well. He even won the club's Player of the Month award for September.

But things have been going downhill for him for quite a while now. So much so that he finds himself on the bench quite often recently and it feels unlikely that Stoke City would try to sign him on a permanent basis in the summer.

That's pretty similar to how his debut season at Parkhead went. He was named the Premiership Player of the Month for November of 2022 but as the campaign progressed, his playing time decreased considerably. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Haksabanovic and whether Celtic are able to bring in a £2.2 million fee for his transfer in the summer.
