Celtic's transfer activity in recent times has left a lot to be desired and is one of the major reasons why they are in the situation that they are in right now. This is starting to feel like a repeat of the 2020/21 campaign quite quickly and there are genuine fears that the Hoops could go trophyless, the season after winning a treble.

Of course, the transfer windows of the 2021/22 season were quite special to be honest. Celtic fans will be hoping for a repeat of that in the upcoming campaign.

Matt O'Riley was signed in January of 2022 for a transfer fee believed to be around £1.5 million from MK Dons. He has proven to be a major success story at Parkhead since then and Atletico Madrid were believed to have even submitted an offer for him last month, which was turned down by Celtic.

Now, Celtic have been told that there is a player in the English Championship right now who could be their next O'Riley. That is none other than Bristol City's Tommy Conway.

Football League World suggest that Conway should be on Celtic's list of transfer targets regardless of who the manager is come next summer. Like O'Riley, he is a player with significant potential, and the Bristol City striker could make a similar impact on the pitch for the Glasgow giants.

Conway was linked with a move to Celtic in January. But nothing seemed to materialise out of the rumours, as he stayed on at Bristol City.

Despite being in the Championship, Conway has shown his ability to deliver against top opposition. He scored in both of Bristol City's games against West Ham United in the FA Cup, as they defeated David Moyes' side to go through to the next round.
