Celtic transfer update on Liverpool's Owen Beck
Most of the media focus in recent weeks has been on goalkeepers Celtic could potentially sign this summer in order to replace Joe Hart, who retired at the end of last season. But there are other positions that the Hoops are expected to be looking to strengthen in as well. One of them has to be left-back.
Celtic were widely expected to sign a left-back in the winter but it did not end up materialising. On top of that, Alexandro Bernabei left on loan to join SC Internacional and it does not feel like he has much of a future at Parkhead.
So, do not be surprised if Celtic sign a new left-back this summer. One of the players they had been heavily linked with at one point last season is Owen Beck.
Beck spent the first half of the season on loan at Dundee FC before returning to Liverpool. He had impressed many around Scotland and there was speculation about a move to Celtic. That did not happen and he end up returning to Dens Park for another temporary spell.

Could Celtic try to sign Beck from Liverpool this summer? Well, there is an update regarding that and it looks like a move to Parkhead is not on the cards for the 21-year-old.
As reported by Football Scotland, Brendan Rodgers will still be looking for a player in that position. But the outlet believes Beck has moved down their shortlist.
It remains to be seen what happens regarding the left-back situation at Celtic this summer. Greg Taylor certainly improved as last season progressed but the Hoops could do with some competition in that area of the pitch. But it does feel like they will try to solve their issues at goalkeeper and striker first before focusing on other positions.
