Ange Postecoglou earned a lot of plaudits for his eye for talent during his stint as Celtic manager, and now continues to do so at Tottenham Hotspur. It is understandable why. Just in his first season at Parkhead, the Hoops signed Jota, Matt O'Riley, Kyogo, Reo Hatate, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Giorgos Giakoumakis, Liel Abada, Josip Juranovic and several others.

The names Celtic missed out on and what they have gone on to do since then, speak volumes as well. Kaoru Mitoma, Micky van de Ven, Malick Thiaw and Ko Itakura are some players who were believed to be on the Hoops' radar when Postecoglou was manager of the club.

Sacha Boey is another player Celtic were rumoured to hold an interest in in the summer of 2021. He ended up joining Galatasary instead and his career has been on an upward trajectory since then.

Bayern Munich have announced the signing of Boey on their official website. As reported by The Washington Post, Galatasaray said that it will receive €30 million as a transfer fee, with another €5 million in potential bonuses and an agreement to stage two friendlies between the clubs and share the profits.

It is safe to say that Celtic could have done with someone like Boey right now. Alistair Johnston had a great debut campaign with the Hoops but has not been at his best this season, as it looks like Brendan Rodgers' system does not suit him as well.

Of course, Boey surely must be happy with the decision that he made to join Galatasaray. He now finds himself at Bayern Munich.

And considering the transfer fee they have shelled out, it would be a surprise if he is not the first-choice right-back in Thomas Tuchel's side. Let's see how things play out.
