Celtic are in search of a new number one this summer as they look for someone to take Joe Hart's place between the posts, following his retirement at the end of last season. The Englishman spent three seasons at Parkhead, winning seven trophies including three league titles. It goes without saying that he leaves big gloves to fill.

Celtic have unsurprisingly been linked with a long list of goalkeepers in recent times. And it looks like they might be set to make an offer to sign one of them in the near future. Someone who is currently at Atletico Madrid.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, the first offer for Horatiu Moldovan is about to appear and it is an attractive one. None other than Celtic. According to reports from Scotland and Romania, the goalkeeper is at the top of the list of targets to replace Hart.

Moldovan joined Atletico Madrid earlier in the year. But since then, he has not played a single minute of football for Diego Simeone's side and is already believed to be seeking an exit.

Someone like Moldovan could be a decent addition for Celtic. He ticks a lot of the boxes that the club will be, or should be, looking for when it comes to signing their next number one goalkeeper.

Moldovan is 26 years of age and has international experience under his belt, having represented Romania on almost a dozen occasions. He was a standout performer for Rapid Bucharest as well before his move to Atletico Madrid.

Of course, it is worth mentioning that Celtic seem to have a lot of other potential transfer targets as well, when it comes to the goalkeeper position. Thus, it will be interesting to see who they ultimately end up signing to replace Hart.
